Macau is all geared up to welcoming Chinese New Year 2020. Here is the list of events happening in January you shouldn’t miss, from Japanese wildlife exhibition, MOVE! and 19th Macao City Fringe Festival to K Pop concerts.

    

    

MOVE!
The best way to learn is through having FUN! The beloved Japanese wildlife exhibition, MOVE ! , originated from one of Japan’s top selling children Illustrations, Zukan-MOVE which has sold 2.5-million is now in Macau.  Children can easily pick up zoological scientific knowledge through unique interactive learning experiences through parent-child bonding beyond intellectual development.

19th Macao City Fringe Festival
The 19th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau will be open until the 19th of this month. This year theme, “Boundless creation will show you around!”, will feature sharing sessions, art critiques, workshops and talks that encourages audience members to turn art into a daily routine.. Check out two featured journeys of “Crème de la Fringe”, doing a deep dive into the city and going wild on creativity held at various locations. Be sure to note down talks and workshop hours ahead of times to not miss out on your favourite programmes.

Kim Hyun Joong 2019 World Tour “Bio-Rhythm” in Macau
Be enchanted by K-pop sensation, “Boys over Flowers”  Kim Hyun Joong with his melodic songs and charming eyes. His latest stop of the world tour “BIO-RHYTHM”  will be at  Macau Broadway on January 19.  Kim Hyun Joong, who returned from military service in 2017, released his solo album in 2011 and took his music career to the next level.  Expects hits like "New Way," "Why" and "Four Seasons from his latest album "New Way".

SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR – “SUPER SHOW 8 : INFINITE TIME”
Get your light sticks ready!  K-pop super boyband, Supper Junior will be playing live at the grand Macao East Asian Games Dome Arena for two nights after several sold-out shows in Asia. Fans can look forward to a night of high energy, unbeatable vocals and slick dance moves from one of the most popular K-pop boyband.  This tour marks the return of member Kyuhyun, who had been away serving two years of mandatory military service.

Parade for the Celebration of Chinese New Year 2020
Kick off the new year by joining the annual Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rat at Senado Square. Get your cameras ready for the star of the show - the iconic dragon dance, rumoured to the longest one in the world. Expect to witness a procession of 15 floats, more than 1,000 performers from local and international arts groups, fireworks and dancing lions.

    

    

The first set of festive activities passes through locations including the Historic Centre, A-Ma Temple are held during the first and the second day of the Chinese Lunar New Year. On the third day of the Lunar New Year (27 January) at the Sai Van Lake Square. The second Parade will be held a few days later at the Northern district, with parade floats along the route and a finale cultural show on stage, as to encourage visitors and residents to enjoy a more localised version of the procession and visitors to familiarise themselves with these neighbourhoods. The Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Rat is organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office.
